The global streaming giant Spotify has revealed that it paid out over ₦58 billion (around $38 million) to Nigerian artists in 2024 alone. This marks more than double the payouts from the previous year, reflecting the massive rise of Afrobeats and Nigerian music worldwide.

According to Spotify’s latest report, Nigerian stars like Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, Rema, and Ayra Starr are leading the charge, pulling millions of streams across Africa, Europe, and the U.S. The platform also noted that upcoming acts are gaining traction faster than ever, thanks to playlist placements and cross-border collaborations.

This growth highlights how much influence Nigeria’s music industry now has on the global stage, solidifying Afrobeats as one of the world’s fastest-growing genres.

For fans, this means more international tours, collaborations, and recognition for homegrown talent. For artists, it’s a big win that proves streaming revenue can keep fueling the industry’s expansion.

Naija music isn’t slowing down—and 2025 is already looking bigger.
